“Mayor Muriel Bowser and District leaders celebrated the completion of the new $20 million Lamond-Riggs/Lillian J. Huff Library. Located in Ward 5, the two-story structure replaces the original Lamond-Riggs Library.
The Lillian J. Huff Library is the District’s 22nd library renovated or rebuilt since 2007. The new 23,500-square-foot library is nearly 5,000 square feet larger than the 17,930-square-foot library it replaced. The second story of the building features a perforated aluminum screen inspired by the patterns, rhythms, and textures of nearby streets, the rooftop peaks of neighboring houses, and the open spaces of the surrounding neighborhood.
