Charles Swab released a statement after people in Chicago and across the country reported issues with the firm's digital platforms, including that their accounts showed a zero balance.

Around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, an NBC Chicago viewer said all of her accounts had been showing they were at a balance of zero for hours."It is most distressing," the viewer said in an email.Reports of issues began surfacing around 11 a.m. and by roughly 3 p.m., more than 1,300 Charles Schwab users around the country had reported issues, A heatmap of reports shows users had issues in Chicago and several other major cities, including New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Pheonix."A technical issue intermittently impacted some trading-related features for clients. Our technology teams have resolved the issue and clients should soon have this issue resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Only a small subset of our clients were impacted," the Charles Schwab spokesperson said.
