offered a heartfelt acceptance speech about community last night at the 2026 Resonator Awards. The second annual awards, held at Los Angeles’ Chaplin Studios, honored the pop singer with the Harmonizer Award.
and took the opportunity to share an off-the-cuff reflection. “I cut my speech to a fourth of the length,” Roan noted before thanking Wilson. “I feel very uncomfortable being told that I’m a good person,” she said. “I think that has to do with some type of Christian guilt or something. But it’s cool when people you really look up to think that you’re a good person or that you’re doing good things.” Roan continued, “But I only know what to do because I see other people in my life doing good things and listening to trans people who need representation and money for healthcare and rent. I kind of think that it’s just an artist’s—and anybody who has money—it’s kind of your duty to give it away. I don’t really know what else there is to harmony other than giving.” After thanking the awards for the recognition, she acknowledged, “I don’t really know what’s gonna happen to women or gay people or people of color or really anyone.
