CEO of Dallas-based HomeVestors is stepping aside
“Together we have built an organization from around 160 franchises to over 1,100 independently owned and operated small businesses,” he said in the letter. “In my time with the company, we have bought over 125,000 houses and I have no doubt that has helped revitalize so many of the communities in which we operate.”“The recent press that mischaracterized our business has taken a personal toll on me,” he said.
“We also know that the number of situations that critics have used to draw these hurtful conclusions only reflect a minuscule portion of our transactions, and some of those situations are inaccurately portrayed,” he continued. “Despite the fact that core elements of who we are have been ignored, we cannot let that take away our pride in what we do.”Hicks had been HomeVestors president since 2017. Since 2022, the Dallas company has been owned by Bayview Asset Management.
