A mix of freezing rain, sleet, and light snow is expected to move into Central Ohio Saturday afternoon, following a relatively mild Thursday and Friday. The weekend will see a shift back towards colder temperatures with a chance for snow showers on Monday and Tuesday.
Good Thursday morning! We are waking up with a glaze of ice and wet conditions as you hit the roads today. Temperatures are still in the lower 30s and slowly warming. We will have a few light showers & drizzle this morning. Central Ohio also has some spotty power outages as well, likely from the freezing rain overnight. Cloudy skies today and warming up to a high around 48 with a 10-15 mph wind out of the west.
Clouds start to break up later today and we will fall to around 27 overnight with partly cloudy skies tonight and tomorrow. We only warm to a high around 36 for Friday but remain dry. Another round of wintry mix is on the way for Saturday. Right now the chance of a wintry mix and rain for the morning is lower because the precipitation will be spottier, but then steady freezing rain/ice/rain will move in for the afternoon. We start the day around 28 then warm to a high of around 41 for the afternoon. Quiet and cold Sunday and Monday then more winter weather. Sunday will be cloudy with a high around 36. Mostly cloudy Monday with a high around 37. Snow showers move back into the region on Monday night. Snow showers for Tuesday and right now the models are agreeing that the rain/snow line will set up in near the Ohio River. This means the current path would keep Central Ohio in the all-snow realm, but we will keep an eye on the track and temperatures as we get closer because right now we will warm into the mid-30s for a slushy and wet snow. Another wintry mix/ice will move in later Wednesday. Have a good one
