Central Ohio residents can expect a mix of sunshine, scattered showers, and fluctuating temperatures over the next few weeks. The weekend will be dry but chilly. Rain is expected to return mid-week.

Central Ohio will see scattered rain and patchy fog to start the day on Friday, followed by a few spotty afternoon showers as temperatures climb into the mid-upper 50s. The weekend will bring dry conditions. Expect a chilly Saturday with morning temperatures in the upper 20s and a high around 38 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Sunday will see more clouds, with mainly overcast skies, a morning low around 29 degrees, and a high around 53 degrees thanks to a brisk southwest breeze.

Monday will mirror Sunday's conditions with mainly overcast skies. Temperatures will start Monday morning around 40 degrees, warming to a high of 53 degrees again. There's a slight chance of a stray light rain shower or sprinkle on Sunday and Monday, but most of Ohio will remain dry. Tuesday will bring a brief cool-down, starting around 31 degrees and warming to a high of 43 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will rebound into the 50s on Wednesday and Thursday. Rain is expected to return on these days as well. There is also a slight chance of a wintry mix to the north on Wednesday, depending on the temperatures, so it's something to keep an eye on. Thursday may also bring a few rumbles of thunder with the rain. The next few weeks look like a bit of a rollercoaster of temperatures with wet weather on and off for Central Ohio. The overall pattern for the region will be very cold weather for most of the Midwest and Plains, but the southern and eastern portions of the Midwest (Ohio included) will have fluctuating temperatures as we ride the line between the colder air to the northwest and warmer air to the southeast. This dividing line will act as a conveyor belt of moisture and disturbances every few days. If we remain on the warm side, it will be mostly rain, but areas that are on the colder side of the line will have accumulating snow.
