After severe weather ripped through central Ohio on Thursday night, the Central Ohio Strike Team has been activated to assist with remediation efforts.
Fri, March 15th 2024 at 10:37 AMSevere weather ripped through Central Ohio on Thursday, and crews were out early Friday morning assessing and cleaning up the damage.
The team is made up of 35 firefighters and paramedics from various fire departments in the region. They met in Dublin on Friday morning and headed to scenes hit by the storms that had limited access.The Norwich Township Fire chief tells WSYX that every Franklin County Fire Department is represented in this Strike Team's response.
Those response team members will be connecting with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to access boats.Additionally, Ohio EMA's Emergency Operations Center has been activated due to the impacts, and ODOT and the Ohio State Hifghway Patrol continue to monitor the roadways.
