Yi He, 26, of Powell, was sentenced to five years in prison on Wednesday, according to a statement from the United States Department of Justice.Yi will also have to pay restitution and forfeit a Tesla vehicle, according to the statement.From 2018 to 2022, Yi took money from the company's bank account and deposited it into his own. Yi also submitted false and fraudulent financial documents to the leadership of the company undetected, according to the statement.
At one point, Yi wired himself $100,000 and then removed the transaction completely from the bank account of the company, according to the statement. According to the statement, Yi failed to report his income to the IRS between the years of 2018 to 2021. Yi stole $26.5 million from the company.Stay Connected
