OLONGAPO CITY–Days before the New Year’s Eve revelry, policemen in Central Luzon were reminded to refrain from firing their guns indiscriminately or face arrest.
Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen issued the stern warning on Thursday to ensure that no members of the police force in the region would cause harm to civilians during the holiday celebration.“We will be very strict in hunting down those indiscriminately firing their weapons. These include our own men, our brothers in the military, security guards, and civilian firearm holders,” Pasiwen said in a statement.
He added: “Those who will be caught firing their firearms indiscriminately to welcome the New Year will be arrested and charged.”
