Police have issued a CCTV appeal after a man was left in hospital when he was attacked by three men during a night out in Newark. Nottinghamshire Police said two brothers were walking to a pub in the town when they were assaulted by three men.
The unprovoked attack saw a 39-year-old man being knocked unconscious and sent to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre. His brother was left with minor injuries following the incident, which happened on Sunday . It took place just after 2am on Middle Gate and police have now released an image of three men they want to trace as part of their investigation. Detective Inspector Paul Lefford said: "This was an horrendous attack on two brothers enjoying a night out in Newark with friends."The pair had been to several pubs on the evening and were making their way back to the Duck pub when the incident occurred and they were assaulted.
"This happened at a busy time in Newark where a lot of people were around. We know there were some people who helped the victim after the attack by delivering first aid. We would really like them to come forward to help us." Anyone who recognises the men in the CCTV image, or anyone who was in the Middle Gate area around the time of the attack and has any information which could help police, should get in touch with officers.
