Folks in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands are in for life-threatening winds and storm surge as Hurricane Beryl heads in their direction.

There’s a tropical storm watch for Belize. Watches mean those conditions are possible, generally within 48 hours. One fatality in Grenada occurred after a tree fell on a house, Kerryne James, the environment minister, told The Associated Press.
