Miami quarterback Carson Beck faces backlash for his actions immediately after losing to Indiana in the national championship.
The Miami Hurricanes left it all on the field Monday night, falling in heartbreaking fashion to the Indiana Hoosiers in the national championship game. Trailing 27‑21, Miami had the ball at midfield with an opportunity to drive for a potential game-winning touchdown with just under a minute remaining.
However, Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck launched a deep pass down the left side of the field, which was intercepted by Jamari Sharpe, sealing the victory for Indiana. What drew significant attention, though, was Beck’s decision immediately after the game ended. While understandably upset, he chose not to shake anyone’s hand — including Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who made a point of greeting many Miami players at midfield after the final whistle.
