News24 editors and senior journalists will gather at the CTICC on 25 May to give an honest synopsis of the state of play in South Africa, before diving into discussions about how to salvage the country from failure.

South Africa is a country worth fighting for and hundreds of people will converge at the Cape Town International Convention Centre for News24'sNews24 editor-in-chief Adriaan Basson will welcome summit-goers alongside master of ceremonies and distinguished investigative journalist, Devi Sankaree Govender, before sitting down with colleagues for an engaging fireside chat about South Africa's intersecting crises.

Working at the helm of South Africa's foremost digital newsroom, Basson, Hunter, Du Toit and Mantshantsha will share their compelling opinion and unflinching analysis of the state of affairs in the country. "We'll go beyond the headlines to pinpoint the issues at heart of our nation's troubles. Fortunately, there's room for us to provide commentary and critique of South Africa without falling into the trap of perpetual pessimism, and we'll use our fireside chat to guide the subsequent panels with the South African changemakers who are taking bold steps to get the country moving in the right direction," said Basson.

Following the fireside chat with News24's editorial team, attendees will sit in on six panel discussions - each focusing on the vital interventions needed to fix South Africa, including activism, criminal justice reforms and political change. Other speakers on the day include the mayor of Cape Town, Geordin Hill-Lewis, Business Leadership SA CEO Busisiwe Mavuso, General Shadrack Sibiya, SAPS' component head for organised crime, and Perpetua Investments CEO Delphine Govender.
