A former Cape Town Hotel manager who allegedly stole R1 million appeared before the Cape Town Magistrates' Court on 24 February 2023:

Hawks spokesperson Zinzi Hani confirmed that Chitonga during August 2021and February 2023 Chitonga diverted funds from the hotel to be directly paid into his personal account.

“The investigation revealed that Chitonga used the hotel account to defraud the business by laundering the stolen money into his personal account.”
