Canelo Alvarez dominated Gennady Golovkin to win their trilogy fight by unanimous decision on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

For a moment in the eighth, Golovkin stepped forward and upped his output. The response was instant and he was smashed with yet another hard right which forced him to step back again.Canelo made him look his agefinally had his first positive moments of the fight as he put together a combination of hooks which forced his opponent to cover up against the ropes.

The win seemingly closes the book on one of the great rivalries in boxing history, a trilogy that saw Alvarez with a 2-0-1 edge. The Mexican superstar dominated from the opening bell, landing the more total punches and more significant punches throughout 12 rounds.
