One viewer wrote in an email, 'Do you have any information on phone calls stating we 'have been paying too much for our electric utility service' and offering a $50 compensation? Continuing to receive these calls, sometimes four to five a day. Do you have any information as to who is responsible for this disturbance of my sanity? Is there someone I might contact to formally request stoppage of these calls?'Let's start with who's responsible.
As for whether you can stop the offers: Yes, you can. Just get in touch with your default electric supplier.PPL recently sent a letter to customers about an option to prevent disclosure of your account information to suppliers.Default suppliers like PPL, Met-Ed and Peco are required to release your customer information based on an order from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission that was finalized in 2014.
