A hunter was seriously injured after a bull moose attacked him in Larimer County on Tuesday.
Around noon, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency SOS from a GPS device around Long Draw Road near Poudre Canyon Road . Through the device, the man said he had been seriously injured by an animal, the sheriff’s office said. He tried to hike out with the help of other passersby when a sheriff’s deputy arrived. The man explained he had been bow hunting when a bull moose attacked him, the sheriff’s office said.
The deputy began First Aid on the man and coordinated for a medical helicopter to transport the hunter to a local hospital. The sheriff’s office said the man’s injuries were life-threatening at the time, but no updates were available as of Wednesday morning.
