The potential alignment in Dallas for a Dallas to Fort Worth high-speed rail line goes through West Dallas and the southwest corner of downtown with a station planned in the Cedars. The proposal from the North Central Texas Council of Governments to build a high-speed rail spur from Dallas to Fort Worth, with a stop in Arlington, would provide visitors with an additional option to automobiles, DART and Trinity Metro, write Bob Jameson and Brent DeRaad.

Rangers and Cowboys fans would have a much easier time getting to and from Arlington. Mavericks and Stars fans in Fort Worth and Arlington, along with those wanting to travel to downtown Dallas, could get there in 10 to 15 minutes, instead of 30 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic. It would also enhance the daily work commute for thousands of residents.We understand it will take many years to make this vision a reality.
