Joseph Cummings murdered Dawn Trusler at a flat in Edinburgh after inflicting more than 140 injuries on her.
A KILLER who used a television and a hammer to brutally murder a mother has been jailed for at least 21 years.
The callous 39 year-old later stated to police: "I hope she is dead. You do not know the half of it."He had tried to plead guilty to the reduced charge of culpable homicide on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He further remarked how Cummings had apparently "little memory" of the attack - but had been "adamant" no weapons were used.
Cummings's lawyer earlier told the hearing the killer had always accepted responsibility for the death.
