Sheriff Paul Haran imposed an electronic tagging order, putting him on a curfew for the next nine months, as an alternative to jail.Lauren Cole, prosecuting, said: "McGuinness became agitated, took a drink from a bottle of Buckfast and smashed the bottle, causing a cut to his arm."He approached the boy, took hold of his head with both hands and headbutted him, knocking him to the ground.
"McGuinness then began to walk about, muttering to himself, before going back to the boy who was still lying on the ground."The other youths shouted at McGuinness to stop but he continued to shout phrases such as 'don't breathe' before eventually standing up."Mrs Cole added: "She arrived and observed McGuinness with his hands around the boy's neck."The boy did not appear to have any injury.
