A deadly shooting in northwest Houston has left one brother dead and another in custody. Authorities are investigating the incident, which occurred after an argument between two brothers over their mother. According to Houston Police Department Lt. Willkens, officers were initially called to the home Tuesday evening regarding a domestic dispute between the younger brother and his girlfriend.
No charges were filed at that time, and the younger brother was given a ride to the north side of Houston to cool off. A few hours later, police were called back to the home after the younger brother returned in a car and allegedly threatened his girlfriend. However, when officers arrived, a family member stated that no threats were made and the younger brother had simply come to pick up work clothes. Despite this, officers remained at the scene until the situation subsided. It wasn't until after 1:15 a.m. Wednesday that police received a third call to the residence. This time, they arrived to find the younger brother deceased from a gunshot wound to the chest. Lt. Willkens reported that the mother had fainted due to the commotion and sustained a head injury.According to Lt. Willkens, the younger brother returned to the home later that night and requested to stay. An argument ensued between the brothers, escalating further when their mother fainted. Both brothers blamed each other for the mother's condition, leading to a heated confrontation. At some point, the older brother retrieved a firearm and shot his younger brother. No one else was injured during the incident, and all individuals present are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. As of now, no further details have been released
