Villagio Broomfield was signing people up to move into the memory care facility right before it was sold, and everyone was told to get out.

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A memory care facility in Broomfield told residents and their families they have 30 days to get out after the facility sold.

Sigg said her family decided to move her mother, Carol, into Villagio Broomfield after a months-long search with a senior advisor. “We're like, okay, if Villagio was willing to do that with us, this is the perfect case scenario,” Sigg said. “We can afford it. She can stay there as her last home. And it's the right choice.”It’s what made the letter earlier this month such a surprise.

Marnie Biln, another senior advocate and chair of a statewide organization of senior placement advocates, said one of her employees gave a tour to a family on April 15. When the family went back to sign the paperwork to move in in late April, Biln said a staff member from Villagio told her new admissions were on hold. Two weeks later, the building sold.
