Brook Park City Council has approved buying a long-vacant property to remove blight and prepare the site for future redevelopment.
BROOK PARK, Ohio -- City Council has unanimously approved a measure to purchase a roughly half-acre vacant property in a high-traffic area of Brook Park.
During the council meeting, Orcutt assured council members that the “intent is not to take a loss on this property whatsoever.”“We’ll take the building down, and we will remove the aprons to the driveway on Smith and Snow roads,” Orcutt said. We will work with the owners of the Brookgate Shopping Center and any other developers that want to put a business on that corner.”
“I think this administration has done a very good job with working our way down Snow Road and cleaning up a lot of these issues, getting the best value for things, whether we’re selling them or we’re buying them,” he said.
