Brook Park City Council has approved a plan to demolish and replace the playground at Carpenter Park, with construction starting in early 2025 and completion expected by June.

BROOK PARK, Ohio -- City Council has approved a plan to demolish and replace the playground at Carpenter Park, with construction set to begin in early 2025.Carpenter Park, located on Sheldon Road, was marked as a top priority for upgrades due to the aging condition of its equipment, some of which is nearly 30 years old.During the Oct. 8 caucus meeting, Orcutt announced that most of the playground project’s $141,219 cost could be covered by grants.

In addition to the $55,000 grant from GameTime, Orcutt said the city has applied for a $50,000 grant at the Cuyahoga County level, which could reduce the city’s portion of the project cost to under $50,000.
