A man living in Park Pointe apartments fought a 30-year-old tow truck driver who was towing his car at about 5:30 a.m. Sept. 22.
BROOK PARK, Ohio -- A 71-year-old man living in Park Pointe apartments, 5850 W. 130th St., fought a 30-year-old tow truck driver who was towing his car at about 5:30 a.m. Sept. 22.
The older man, upon seeing the driver attach a strap around one of his car’s tires, ran outside and positioned himself in front of the tow truck.The older man told police that the driver warned him to get out of the way. He threatened to take physical action against the older man.The driver said he didn’t use the pepper spray until the older man charged at him with a closed fist.
The older man ran back inside his apartment and grabbed a metal power-box panel. He threw the panel at the tow truck. The tow-truck driver told police that he was towing the man’s car because it didn’t display the proper parking pass.Police determined that the parking pass inside the man’s car was different than the passes inside other cars parked in the Park Pointe lot.Paramedics examined the older man, who had pepper spray all over him, but the man refused to go to the hospital.
