Broncos move up five spots to No. 63 overall, draft Oklahoma WR Marvin Mims Jr. via ParkerJGabriel
At Oklahoma, Mims played for a pair of prolific offensive coordinators in Lincoln Riley and then Jeff Lebby. He told reporters in Denver that he split his time “about 50/50” between playing in the slot and lining up outside.
Regardless of where he lined up, Mims was a big play waiting to happen at OU. Over the past two seasons, he caught 86 passes for 1,788 yards, an average of 20.8 yards per reception. The Broncos moved up five spots to No. 63 overall and also got the No. 183 overall pick from Detroit and sent back No. 68 and No. 139. Denver entered Friday with just five picks overall in the draft: Nos. 67 and 68 in the third round, No. 108 in the fourth round, No. 139 in the fifth round and No. 195 in the sixth round.
