BAYTOWN — Brittany Force , Matt Hagan and Erica Enders were the winners in the three professional classes on Sunday at the SpringNationals, wrapping up an end to NHRA drag racing at Houston Raceway Park after 35 years of racing.
“It’s incredible to close out a win in Houston,” said Force, who ran an elapsed time of 3.763 seconds at 329.58 mph for her 13th career victory. Caruso and Enders comprised the first all-female Pro Stock final, not counting a four-wide race. Caruso got away first but Enders, a four-time world champion from Houston, outran the rookie.
Enders, who began racing at Houston Raceway Park at 8 in Junior Dragster, won for the 36th time in Pro Stock, reaching her 66th career final round counting all categories. Caruso and Enders were 1-2 in qualifying respectively.
