Age UK’s Caroline Abrahams tells me that grandparents provide a contribution to society and the economy, which all too often goes unrecognised. “While these arrangements offer a mutually beneficial situation for many families, we need to remember that there will be many grandparents who will either want to carry on working or need to return to the workplace themselves to survive the cost of living crisis,” she said.
