A bride went viral on Instagram and TikTok for making her own wedding cake — but not all responses were positive. She opened up about her experiences with Fox News Digital.

sent me the video, and she was like, ‘You look so beautiful. Your cake looks so amazing,’" Mendoza recalled.

Lilly Mendoza, a bride from Washington, D.C., who made her wedding cake in Altamonte Springs, Florida, told Fox News Digital that her guests were able to see all the details that she put into her cake when they got close to the reception dessert. "It was a little upsetting. But I have a lot of supportive family," Mendoza continued."I feel like people forget that there are real people attached to viral videos."

Each cake had to be thawed before it could be iced — and they were all then placed back into a refrigerator."I didn't have any fruit fillings, so that was a blessing because that prevented the cake from ‘sweating,’" she said in reference to Florida’s humid climate."I didn't take the cakes out of the refrigerator until the very last moment."
