Getting fired by the Giants might work out pretty well for Brian Daboll.

Daboll has a close relationship with Josh Allen with both coming to Buffalo in 2018. Daboll would serve as the Bills offensive coordinator for four years before being hired as the Giants head coach. Daboll enjoyed instant success with the Giants, leading them to a 9-71 record and a wild-card playoff win over the Vikings in his first season.

However, that promising start quick disintegrated with Daboll going 20-40-1 overall before being fired on Nov. 10, 2025. Daniel Jones regressed significantly after his promising first season under Daboll and the Giants ultimately released him last season. Daboll had done a solid job of preparing Jaxson Dart for an impressive rookie season, but a spate of blown leads led to Daboll’s axing.Bills fire longtime head coach after overtime playoff crusher Broncos add journeyman QB straight from TV gig to be Bo Nix injury insurance: 'Let’s go get a Super Bowl?'The Bills replaced Daboll with Ken Dorsey for two seasons before firing him and installing Joe Brady as the offensive coordinator. Allen has maintained an MVP level no matter who has called the plays in Buffalo, but the team has failed to get over the playoff hump. The Bills were haunted by the Chiefs for years in the postseason and then suffered a painful and controversial playoff elimination against the Broncos on Saturday. The refs ruled that receiver Brandin Cooks did not have possession of a deep Allen pass in overtime and it was instead intercepted by Denver’s Ja’Quan McMillian, leading to the Broncos’ winning field goal.“Sean has done an admirable job of leading our football team for the past 9 seasons, but I feel we are in need of a new structure within our leadership to give this organization the best opportunity to take out team to the next level,” owner Terry Pegula said in a statement. GM Brandon Beane was promoted to team president and will oversee the hiring of the team’s next head coach.
