Former Giants head coach Brian Daboll is reportedly expected to interview for the Eagles' OC job.

Nick Sirianni spoke to reporters during the Eagles season wrap up press conference and was asked about his involvement in the office next season. Brian Daboll, who coached Jalen Hurts at Alabama and coached with Nick Sirianni with the Chiefs during his 29-year coaching career, will interview for the Eagles’ offensive coordinator vacancy, Adam Schefter reported Sunday on social media.

Daboll and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni worked together under Romeo Crennel with the Chiefs in 2012, Daboll as offensive coordinator and Sirianni as wide receivers coach. Daboll has also interviewed for the Titans’ head coaching opening and the Chargers’ offensive coordinator vacancy. The Eagles have also interviewed Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson and one-time Eagles draft pick Mike Kafka, Daboll's offensive coordinator with the Giants and Giants interim coach after he was fired. In Daboll’s four years in Buffalo under former Eagles defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, from 2018 through 2021, the Bills had two top-5 offenses. He was honored as NFL Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020 for his work helping turn Allen from a raw project into MVP runner-up behind Aaron Rodgers. After the 2021 season, Daboll replaced Joe Judge as Giants head coach and in his first season the Giants went 9-7-1 – their first winning season since 2016 – and beat the Vikings in a wild-card game, their first postseason win since the 2011 Super Bowl season. They went on to lose to the Eagles at the Linc in the second round. But they went 6-11, 3-14 and 4-13 the last three years, and Daboll was fired in November with the team sitting at 2-8. Daboll’s last win as a head coach came in October over the Eagles.-lowest among coaches who were active in 2025, ahead of only former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, who had a .294 winning percentage in three years with the Cards. In 2022 and 2023, Daboll coached current Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, who rushed for over 1,300 yards in 2022 and made his second Pro Bowl. As the Eagles prepared to open their 2024 Super Bowl season, Barkley spoke highly of Daboll and said Daboll had called him to wish him luck with the Eagles. “I’m thankful for the six years I had in New York. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without it, and I still got great relationships with all those guys,” he said. “I even talked to Daboll today and he wished me luck. So still have a great relationship with those guys.” The Eagles moved on from Kevin Patullo after one season, relieving him of his offensive coordinator duties on Tuesday. Whoever replaces him will be Sirianni’s fifth offensive coordinator in six years and Hurts’ seventh play caller since his rookie year in 2020. Daboll, 50, began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at William & Mary and Michigan State before spending seven years coaching under Bill Belichick with the Patriots. He became Jets quarterbacks coach in 2007 under Eric Mangini and worked alongside current Eagles tight ends coach Jason Michael. He followed Mangini to Cleveland when Mangini became Browns head coach in 2009 and spent two year as Browns offensive coordinator. After a year with former Eagles defensive coordinator Todd Bowles in Miami and a year with Sirianni with the Chiefs, he returned to Foxboro and coached tight ends for Belichick for four years. Daboll took a brief hiatus from the NFL and became Nick Saban’s offensive coordinator at Alabama during the 2017 championship season, where he coached Hurts.
