Celtic booted out a £10million bid from Leeds United this week, hot on the heels of a failed attempt by Bologna to try to tempt them into selling the Danish Under 21 international. The Parkhead boss has been impressed by O'Riley since taking over again and wants him around as he continues to build on Ange Postecoglou's success last season.
Asked about potentially losing any of his key men on deadline day, Rodgers replied: "Well I don't anticipate that. We're looking to put strength into the squad rather than deplete it." "Listen, I'm not here to jeopardise the strategy of the team, or lock the team or myself into anything that would fail or not work. It's just time.
