On this day in 2008, BreakingBad premiered, and fans are paying tribute to their favorite show 🎂 '15 years of the best TV universe ever. Bravo Vince.' 'Thanks for all those nerve-wracking, nail-biting, emotion-meddlingly brilliant hours of television'
It's been 15 years since Breaking Bad first premiered on AMC, and fans are celebrating the milestone anniversary. Breaking Bad debuted with its pilot episode on January 20, 2008, and went on to air 62 episodes across five seasons before its finale, "Felina," in 2013.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Breaking Bad is now 15 years old today, and grateful fans are celebrating the show's existence on social media. The show is widely considered to be one of the best television series ever made, ranking #2 all-time on IMDb's Top 250 TV list, behind only David Attenborough's wildlife documentary Planet Earth II. Even 15 years after its debut, it still ranks 25th on the movie database's current, most-popular television shows.
Breaking Bad's pop-culture resonance also has to do with the very human nature of its characters. Walter White begins the show as an ultra-lovable family man that viewers are meant to feel sympathy for, despite his decision to cook meth. The show presents the lead character as a man who is doing it because he is forced to by circumstances out of his control. As the seasons come and go, though, he transforms into a selfish, greedy monster.
The show also had a tremendous cast of supporting characters. Gunn gives a performance full of nuance as her character learns about the truth of Walter's situation, Dean Norris is equally hilarious and threatening as Walter's brother-in-law Hank Schrader, and Krysten Ritter's Jane Margolis has a devastating storyline in her relationship with Jesse.
