Are there any specific high-risk populations of breast cancer patients in whom you would recommend earlier screening for brain metastasis?. Some studies suggest that across the course of a lifetime of someone diagnosed with HER2+ MBC, there’s about a 50% chance that they’ll develop brain metastasis. In fact, there wasthat was published by the group at Dana-Farber where they looked at patients who had been diagnosed with de novo metastatic disease.
How does the screening process for LMD differ from or align with the screening protocols for brain metastasis in breast cancer patients? . With brain metastasis, I personally believe that if you screen and find it earlier, we can offer gamma knife or other treatment options, but with LMD, it's just not good to find. I do think that looking ahead to the future, if we have better therapies and we detect it earlier, people will live longer.
