A West Valley City bowling alley is facing significant repercussions after a deliberate act of vandalism resulted in extensive flooding. Security footage captured a group of individuals entering All Star Bowling and Entertainment at Valley Fair Mall on Friday night. Their actions led to a toilet pipe being ripped out of the wall, unleashing an overwhelming torrent of water throughout the building.
The surveillance footage shows the group leaving the restroom moments before the flood begins, with another video depicting water gushing from the wall pipe, revealing the missing toilet section. General Manager Dusty Wareing, although not present during the incident, described the scene as chaotic, with water pouring at an estimated rate of 200 gallons per minute. The rapid influx overwhelmed the facility, forcing employees to navigate through the rising waters.The aftermath has been a challenging ordeal for the bowling alley. Restoration crews deployed over 70 fans to dry out the water-logged space, but the cleanup process remains incomplete. Several gaming machines remain inoperable, and a section of the wall had to be removed to facilitate ventilation, requiring subsequent replacement. The incident forced the bowling alley to close last Friday, resulting in a significant loss of business. Wareing reported having to refund numerous customers who were mid-game when the flooding occurred. West Valley City Police have confirmed receiving a report of the vandalism and are actively investigating to identify the individuals responsible. Fans are expected to run continuously for at least the rest of the week, while the total cost of the damage remains undetermined.
