It's been precisely three years since Boruto 's anime went on hiatus. Part two was announced almost immediately, but at the time, fans rightly had mixed feelings about the anime. At least that was until Two Blue Vortex came out a few months later.
Ever since, fans have been eagerly waiting to see the Omnipotence Arc and Two Blue Vortex animated, more so after witnessing the almost unbelievable animation overhaul Studio Pierrot pulled off with Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War. While nothing's set in stone just yet, Boruto's return is inevitable and seeing it well-animated might not be just a pipe dream anymore. Despite consisting of static manga panels with minimal coloring, the teaser is incredibly striking. Not only is the teaser well-edited, but it also picks its panels wisely, using its red-blue color story to paint a stark contrast between Boruto and Kawaki while also strengthening their parallels with Sasuke and Naruto, respectively. Of course, the teaser also gives Sarada, Himawari, Mitsuki, Kashin Koji, and Jura a moment in the limelight, perfectly capturing their most memorable moments in the series so far. Although only a manga edit, the teaser rightly has many excited for the anime's return. After all, if a manga teaser can look this good, one can only imagine how much better the anime's going to be, and there's plenty of proof to show part two will be nothing like fans remember. Pierrot Has Stepped up Its Game Since Boruto Ended All that said, it's worth acknowledging that Boruto's anime wasn't bad by any means. Plagued by filler — sure, but the anime delivered where it mattered most, which is the action sequences and fights. In fact, most of the anime's problems can be attributed to its initial weak character designs and story arcs in the manga, which simply carried over into the anime. However, Two Blue Vortex goes beyond simply fixing this issue with some of the best character designs in the entire franchise and a much more focused story. For the most part, Boruto's anime simply needed some refining and Studio Pierrot is more than capable of doing that and much more now. All of Pierrot's new releases have seen a huge jump in quality, whether that's Kingdom, whose animation has gotten progressively better with every new season or Season 2 of Black Clover, which looks like a completely different series.
