British lawmakers just voted to put off a decision on Boris Johnson's deal, legally forcing him to ask the EU for another Brexit delay
Johnson must now ask the EU for an extension to the Brexit process until the end of January, an outcome he has been determined to avoid since he returned in triumph from Brussels with a new deal earlier this week.Oliver Letwin, the MP who proposed the plan, said his amendment was an"insurance policy" to ensure Britain would not"crash out" of the European Union without a deal on October 31. It passed by 322 votes to 306.
