Brexit's end may be near but it's not over yet. Here's what you need to know about what's happening now:

Kim HjelmgaardLONDON – After three years of unrelenting acrimony, divisions and frustration related to Britain's European Union divorce battle, Brexit's end is in some sense near but it's not over. Here's the latest you need to know about Britain's efforts to leave the EU.British Prime Minister Boris Johnson won the backing Thursday of European Union leaders for his new deal to leave the bloc.

Johnson's ruling Conservative Party doesn't have a majority in Britain's 650-seat Parliament. If lawmakers reject the deal, the impact is harder to predict. Johnson will face the humiliation of Brexit unraveling after repeatedly promising that he would get it done by Halloween.

"We all hope that what we decided yesterday will also be accepted in Westminster," Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel said Friday. The dirty little secret is that Brexit is not complete whatever happens Saturday.
