Some communities in Fort Bend County and Montgomery County are now under a boil water notice.
The municipal utility districts or public water systems are notifying residents that they need to boil their water before consumption. Officials will notify residents when the notices are lifted.The following notice was issued on Friday:
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. Currently, crews are working to resolve the issues and have indicated that they will be up and running this evening. Aqua Texas issued a "Boil Water Notice" to its customers. They are expected to restore full service by this evening.
