Tests showed levels of total trihalomethanes were slightly above state guidelines. City officials say they have adjusted to address the issue.

Boerne’s water supply tested above the federal limit for a toxic chemical earlier this year, but the city says it is addressing the situation and the water is safe to drink. In a notice sent to residents on Sept. 25 and posted on the city's website, Boerne Utilities said it was notified by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality that tests showed the city's drinking water exceeded the state limit for total trihalomethanes, which are volatile organic compounds.
