The city says it needs to charge more as it upgrades its infrastructure to deal with rapid population growth.
The Boerne City Council has given initial approval to raising the city's wastewater service rate by 3%, and higher rates for water service could also be coming soon for residents. City officials say the higher rates are needed to pay for infrastructure projects to help the city utilities keep up with the demand brought on by rapid population growth. The base monthly fee to use Boerne Utilities wastewater services will rise from $22.80 to $23.48 for residential customers.
