Boerne all-stars try to extend their perfect postseason in Little League World Series
SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT , Pa. – Boerne entered 2024 having never won a state tournament game on the 10-12-year-old level that advances all-star teams on the path toward the Little League Baseball World Series. Now that it has arrived in Williamsport as the Southwest Region champion, Boerne has made it through four tournaments this summer without ever losing. It tries to extend that perfect mark Thursday at 6 p.m. against Mid-Atlantic Region champion Council Rock - Newtown from Pennsylvania .
“I am on the board, too and I was really big on first off when you’re doing all-stars, get the politics out of it,” said Newson, who is serving as an all-star manager for the first time in his 14 years of coaching Little League. “We’ve put things in place. Is it perfect? No, but it really pushes for that, to put the best kids on the team. “There’s a lot of really good friends and really good baseball players that didn’t make this team.
