According to an arrest affidavit and multiple media reports, Jordan was apprehended by the Maitland Police Department on Tuesday and booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of DUI , property damage, cocaine possession , and resisting arrest without violence. He was released a few hours later.
The released bodycam video, spanning over an hour, documents the interaction between law enforcement and Jordan. The footage shows Jordan behind the wheel of a blue vehicle with an unidentified female passenger. A Maitland police officer approaches the car, which was stuck on railroad tracks, and instructs Jordan to remain still. Jordan expresses his urgency to leave, stating he made a wrong turn and needs to get off the tracks. The officer informs Jordan that a train is approaching and asks both Jordan and the female passenger to exit the vehicle. They comply, and officers proceed with a pat-down of Jordan. During the interaction, Jordan identifies himself as Michael Jordan's son, maintains his innocence, and insists he is not intoxicated despite the officer's concerns about his slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. According to the arrest affidavit, Maitland officers observed Jordan's vehicle facing southbound on railroad tracks with its headlights on around 1:14 a.m. on February 4th. They discovered the car had fled a traffic stop conducted by the Seminole County Sheriff's Office. Officers detected the odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle and noted Jordan's slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. Jordan claimed he took a wrong turn and required assistance to remove his car from the tracks. Police stated that Jordan resisted leaving the vehicle until instructed to do so by the officers. He reportedly revealed his recent visit to several venues in the Winter Park and Casselberry area, including Rachel's Gentleman's Club. Following a series of sobriety tests, officers arrested Jordan for DUI. Jordan allegedly refused to cooperate with walking to the patrol car and resisted getting inside. During a search, officers discovered cocaine in Jordan's pants pocket. Hours after his arrest, Jordan was released from the Orange County Jail. He declined to answer reporters' questions upon his departure in a Lamborghini, according to FOX 35's Caroline Coles. Jordan's basketball career included playing for the University of Central Florida from 2009 to 2012. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Rosen College of Hospitality Management in 2013. He was also charged with obstructing a police officer, but the charge was dropped as part of a plea agreement, as per reports.
