Chinese authorities were going to cremate Sixaxeni's remains, which is against the family's beliefs and wishes, after they were told they would need to raise about R400 000 to bring Lusanda's body back to South Africa. The family managed to get the money together with the help of Mossel Bay residents and other South Africans to bring Sixaxeni's body home.Her remains arrived in the country on Monday and were transported to her family home in KwaNonqaba on Tuesday.The former pupil from Point High School will be laid to rest on Saturday.
