A Colorado man whose body was found by rafters in the Colorado River on June 22 was identified Wednesday.
WESTWATER, Grand County — A Colorado man whose body was found by rafters floating the Colorado River last week was identified Wednesday.of Ryan Patrick Latcham, of Grand Junction, while they were floating the Colorado River on June 22, deputies say.
The rafters found the man at 12:37 p.m. about two miles upstream from the Westwater Ranger Station in Grand County, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Office. The rafters reported the body, then secured the man to their raft and floated downriver to the ranger station. Deputies from Mesa County in Colorado and Grand County in Utah responded at the station.
Grand County sheriff's officials said in a statement that no criminal causes are apparent at this time and they are awaiting a final analysis from the state medical examiner.
