UPDATE Authorities release identity of body found by rafters floating on Colorado River in Grand County last week
Rafters located the body Thursday, approximately two miles upstream from the nearby Westwater Ranger Station. When they found the man's body, it was then secured to the rafts until law enforcement arrived.
On Tuesday, the Grand County Sheriff's Office said the man has been identified as Ryan Patrick Latcham from Grand Junction, Colorado. While it's not known how Latcham ended up in the river, the sheriff's office said there doesn't appear to be a criminal element to his death and a final analysis will come from the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner.
