It has been suggested this M3 will be based on a facelifted version of the 3 Series - no tweaks to the grille, it seems - as the standard car is approaching three years on sale. And BMW is nothing if not prompt on its 'Life Cycle Impulse' updates. Part of that refresh is likely to include iDrive 8, recently seen on the iX, with two vast screens linking the driver display and infotainment.
The internet reckons this can be seen in the shape of the dashboard, but it would take a far more knowledgeable BMW eye than ours to tell the difference. Nevertheless, if the Touring does launch with iDrive 8, remember where you read it first . Note the orange bucket seats, too, already a trademark of this generation. Good luck keeping them pristine with a family onboard, though...
Of course, we're still short of many other details - although BMW has confirmed a preliminary MPG of 27.43 . Not that we'll stop gossiping just because we don't know the 0-62mph time yet. Quite the opposite, in fact.
