It was an up-and-down season but the Blue Jays persevered. 'But now playoffs start, it's a clean slate. We control our own destiny.'

“The goal at the start of the season was to win the division, didn’t do that. But you don’t always play to the potential that you can,”said. “But you want to have a team that’s able to win even when you’re not playing at your best. And we did that and I think over 162, the well-roundedness of our team is what got us to this point.
The Blue Jays didn’t take an easy route to the postseason. There were rough stretches for the club, especially their 11-17 month of May. The Jays had to play most of June with only four starters after’s demotion to the minor leagues. Then, there was the mid-September four-game sweep by the Rangers, which pushed Toronto out of a playoff spot with only 15 games remaining.
