'We need parents to help us by not dropping their kids off at the listed location.'
Birmingham police encourage parents to keep their children away from an event being promoted in the city for Aug. 19, 2023. Birmingham police officials are denouncing a flyer circulating on social media that they say alludes to the possibility of a violent event in the city this weekend.
“Our main concern is the safety of our community members,’’ said department spokeswoman Sgt. LaQuitta Wade. “We do not condone this event or the violence that is alluded to on the flyer. We need parents to help us by not dropping their kids off at the listed location or any other location unattended without your supervision.
