A bipartisan group of politicians is calling for an end to heated political rhetoric following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump .'There is no place in America for this kind of violence or for any violence ever. Period. No exceptions,' President Joe Biden said in his Oval Office address Sunday night. 'We can’t allow this violence to be normalized.
'It's the growing tribalism and hate within our own country where we find it hard to recognize that the lines that divide us are not nearly as strong as the ties that bind us.'Republicans echoed similar messages. 'Our focus needs to be on national unity as we move forward in this election. We just can't let this violence win and divide us,' Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, Chairman of the Intelligence Committee, said.
